Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Request Activity Log
Every time you fetch or download a video, our server records a short activity entry: the Pinterest pin ID (not the full URL you pasted, and not any tracking parameters it may have carried), the quality you chose, the result (success or failure and why), your IP address, and a timestamp. This is used to keep the service running — catching abuse, seeing when Pinterest is blocking us, and troubleshooting broken pins — and is visible only to the site operator through a password-protected admin panel. It is automatically deleted after 30 days. We do not build a profile tied to any personal identity; the record is keyed to an IP address and a Pinterest pin ID, nothing more.
1.2 Standard Server Logs
Separately from the activity log above, our web server also logs standard technical data for security — request path, HTTP method, status code, and response time. These entries do not include query strings (so a download's underlying video URL is never written here) and are rotated automatically by the server.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Account credentials or login information
- Payment information (KlickPint is completely free)
- Location data beyond IP-based rate limiting and the activity log above
- Downloaded video content (we do not store downloaded files, ever)
2. How We Use Your Information
The limited data we collect is used exclusively for:
- Processing your video download request in real-time
- Rate limiting and abuse prevention
- Diagnosing technical errors, broken pins, and Pinterest blocking issues
- Security monitoring and bot protection
3. Cookies
KlickPint sets Google Analytics cookies (see section 4) to measure site usage. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any cookie that tracks you across other websites.
4. Third-Party Services
KlickPint uses the following third-party services:
- Google Fonts — to load typography. Google may log your IP when fonts are fetched. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Pinterest CDN — video files live on Pinterest's servers, not ours. By default your browser is redirected to Pinterest's CDN and downloads the file directly, which means Pinterest's CDN does see your IP address. If that redirect is blocked, we stream the file through our server instead and your IP is not passed on. Either way, we never store the file.
- Google Analytics — to see how many people use KlickPint and which pages they visit. It sets cookies (
_gaand similar) and collects your approximate location (from IP, which Google does not retain in full), device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you got here. This data is Google's, governed by their Privacy Policy, and retained for up to 14 months under our Analytics settings. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using a browser/extension that blocks third-party trackers.
We do not use Facebook Pixel or any advertising/retargeting networks on KlickPint.
5. Data Retention
The request activity log described in section 1.1 (pin ID, quality, outcome, IP, timestamp) is kept for a maximum of 30 days and then automatically and permanently deleted. Standard server logs (section 1.2) are rotated on a much shorter cycle. Full Pinterest URLs and downloaded video content are never stored at any time.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption, HTTP security headers, and rate limiting to protect against unauthorized access and abuse.
7. Children's Privacy
KlickPint is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us immediately.
8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right to Access — Request details about data we hold about you
- Right to Deletion — Request deletion of any data we may hold
- Right to Object — Object to processing of your data
- Right to Portability — Receive your data in a portable format
Since the activity log is keyed by IP address and pin ID rather than a personal identity, and auto-deletes after 30 days, most requests are already resolved by the retention window above. If you'd like your recent activity looked up or removed sooner, contact us with the IP address and approximate date/time and we'll handle it manually.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of KlickPint after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
